Casa Talamanca

Alegría 61 is a four-bedroom house with two container guesthouses. The materials selected for this project include metal, wood, bahareque, and bamboo, resulting in an airy and cozy home. To connect the indoor to the outdoor and feel one with nature, we designed landscape paths using the gravel extracted from the site and gave each building a balcony looking out at the sunrise. Underneath a leaf-shaped roof, the Main House is the star of the project, with a wrap-around balcony that allows for a 360° view of the surrounding natural environment. The house’s guest and master bedrooms are separated by an outdoor garden, which maintains privacy while still ensuring that social areas are accessible. We support climate comfort by using passive strategies like cross ventilation through big openings and by creating big overhangs in the balconies. This way, we avoid the use of AC, reducing energy expenses and environmental impact.
