Two of the client's main guidelines for Alegría 07 were integrating the exterior space with the house’s interior and separating the social environments from the private ones. Another unique circumstance of this project is the natural current of water that passes through the middle of the lot. Considering these guidelines and conditions, our Design Studio designed two separate volumes joined by a bridge that passes over the water, including terraces and large openings to let the exterior in. In addition, this house was designed with passive climatic design strategies that account for the position and characteristics of the land and its orientation to optimize ventilation and natural lighting while, at the same time, maintaining privacy in its spaces.
